Snowboardin' Saturday

Dave took the three older boys snowboarding on Saturday. This was their first time, which is a sad commentary since we have several great ski resorts in our backyard. It just seems like our winter weekends are always very busy, usually with basketball games or other family activities.

So Saturday, off they went! The boys had snowboarding lessons in the morning, and then hit the slopes (literally--ouch!) for the rest of the day. The boys all loved it, and it looks like we will try to do it more often...that is, if the boys get after school jobs to help pay for their new hobby! ;)

Jason, Sarah and I spent a quiet day at home. Here is a picture for your weekly Sarah "fix"! Sarah looks especially cute in red, don't you think? :)

One way I get Sarah to sit still for a picture is by asking her to point to different body parts. Here she is, pointing to her hands!

Her language skills (expressive and receptive) seem to be pretty close to typical for an 18 month old (Sarah will be 2 in March). She has been home for almost three months!

I am amazed by how quickly the language has come for her-- she seems to understand almost everything we say, and is starting to put words together.

Some of her phrases are: "Daddy home!" "Night night", "Sit down", "Good girl", "Go bye bye."

She has a large vocabulary of single words like juice, milk, doggie, mama, daddy, brother, shoes, socks, cookie, bath, and go, to name a few!
