Sarah's naptime buddy

First, I must preface this post by saying, "Yes, Sarah still takes a nap!"
She is almost four and still naps for an hour or two in the afternoon.  The boys gave up naps entirely by the time they were two, so having a good napper is a new thing at our house.

As soon as Sarah lays down for her nap, she immediately takes inventory.

"Where's my Big Panda?" she'll ask.

The other stuffed animals are also inventoried, but are not crucial for naptime.  Big Panda, on the other hand, is pretty much a napping necessity.

I'm glad that Big Panda is BIG, because otherwise I'd never find him at naptime.  He definitely makes the rounds at our house.

Here he is, playing Life.   (Yes, I know it's not exactly a preschool game, but Jason and Sarah are fascinated with it!  The cars!  The pink and blue people pegs!!)

Here he is, having a weekend snooze on the couch with Sarah and Logan.
And here he is, back in Sarah's bedroom.  Is it just me, or does he have a slightly glazed look in his eyes?  (Kinda like I do at the end of the day!)
Big Panda gets dragged all over the house by his snout, so his mouth and nose are a little saggy and worn.

Poor Big Panda.

Saggy, worn... but very loved!

(Oddly enough, this description seems to fit me, too!  :)

What a great naptime friend!

I would love a huge panda bear to sleep with - well not really, sometimes Dave intrudes on my space when we sleep and he's pretty small, so I can only imagine how intrusive a big panda would be. Maybe we could watch TV together.

And I have to agree with the saggy, worn comment - me too. :)

Your a smart momma for getting Sarah to love such a huge animal! And my kids love LIFE right now too. I have since thrown out the normal rules and made it much more condensed for sanity's sake. I totally agree. I think it's the peg people and the cars that seal the deal.

Love that panda! Each of my kids has a special "friend" as well.
Oh, and my kids still nap for at least an hour a day and the youngest turns four next week...
A rested child is a happy child!

Hanna still took a nap in kindergarten. Well, more like a quiet time in her room that could end up as a nap so I could rest while Grace napped. It was great!
