Sarah's big girl bed!

Ok, so I know I said I would post these a month ago... but you know how it goes!

Anyway, here is the big unveiling of Sarah's new bed...

Ta da!

Sarah loves this bed. I love it, too! And... the best part is that I found it on an online classified site for a third of its original price! (This is especially amazing since I'm not the kind of person who typically finds great deals at garage sales, online, etc.)

Close up of the quilt. It's from Ta*get's "Shabby Chic" line.

A few more pictures...

This is Sarah's crib quilt that I can't bear to part with yet. (Also from T*rget).

The flowers on the wall are vinyl. I found a vinyl shop on Etsy and asked the designer to create flowers similar in style to those on the crib quilt. I have really liked the vinyl. It was easy to put up, and when we want to change it, we can remove it easily.

A close up of a paper lantern. I found these in a local craft store last spring and they just make me smile.

Two more paper lanterns above her bed. Now that we've moved the crib, I'm going to have to rethink this space since the bed is so much lower and the wall is so much bigger. I was thinking of maybe removing the ladybug and lanterns and then hanging some larger tin tiles (painted) in the space. I'd love to hear any ideas you might have. :)

So, so sweet!!! I would have loved that headboard as a child....it's imagination sparking and great for storing all her special treasures.

My fav part of her room is the saying above the closet! So true of these children!

Sarah's new bed turned out great. Wonderful with the rest of the room.

I've decorated both girl's rooms mainly from IKEA. They have cheap prints and frames. That way you could get a few bigger ones for the large wall. Very cute bed.

Adorable!! ...the perfect little girl retreat! :) I love the vinyl saying above the closet doors...so true and fitting!

Like the idea of painted tiles above her bed instead of the ladybug. As much as I love the ladybug, it just doesn't do much for the lovely shabby-chic quilt...so the idea of the tiles would be nice. Take photos if you do it. You could go fairly large scale with the tiles, as you have such a large space. Can't wait to see what you come up with!! :)

Blessings,
Tanya

Her Big girl bed and room is just precious! We love it!!!
I say we, because Allie is sitting here on my lap oooing and aweing and bouncing up and down telling me that she wants a big girl bed too!
We have it, just haven't converted the toddler bed into a twin yet...
Well, I guess I know what my next project is going to be... LOL!
You did a really nice job!

Strange. somehow this post just came across my RSS feed today. Even though it is REALLY OLD, I have to comment and say that her room makes me smile! I totally want it as my bedroom. :)
