We finally got all the paperwork submitted and got the green light to go to the courthouse and have a hearing to complete Sarah's readoption paperwork. The adoption was final when arrived home from China, but we had to fill out more paperwork to "register" the adoption in our home state and get Sarah a birth certificate.
OK, so I was a little disappointed with this procedure. I kept seeing really great pictures of readoptions on friends' blogs, but the judge we were given was "all business" and the whole thing took like two minutes and he was outta there... so we settled for a picture on the front lawn!
Oh well... it was the LAST hurdle and the END of the paperwork-- so this in itself is cause for celebration!
Here are some pictures of some of Sarah's favorite things....
She loves Q-tips!!! Give her a box a Q-tips and she's a happy girl! Funny, huh! She doesn't stick them in her ears, nose, or eyes... so we indulge her. She likes to move them from one hand to the other and pull the fluff up on them. It's a fine motor, tactile experience. :)
I took this picture right after her bath, hence the shiny (Eucerin lotioned) face! Sarah has very sensitive skin that tends to be dry, so we slather lotion on her every night after her bath.

7 Kind Words:
She just keeps growing and learning more things. She has such a cute personality you can even see in the pictures!
Where has 7 months went? I love the stair thing. Both the girls are constantly doing the same.
Congratulations on finishing up everything at the courthouse!! So sorry that it was business-like.
Sarah is just adorable. I think that "Adam" and "Patrick" on AAC's list are also from the same place as Sarah. Do you know if this is right?
Blessings,
Sarah
Congratulations on the readoption!! Luckily here in Arizona we didn't have to readopt to get a birth certificate. Presley would LOVE to climb your stairs. Her new thing is climbing up on top of the barstools - the high high barstools!! She pushes her little chair up to them and them climbs on the little chair to reach climb on top of the barstool!! We have got to get Sarah and Presley together someday! They are only a month apart and have so much in common! Have a good weekend!!
Yes, on the mixed messages. I do that too! Rick gives no mixed messages. He just encourages them. Sometimes i have to walk away because of how high he lets them climb outdoors. I can't watch! But now that I think of it, I need to take a photo....
Congrats on that final step. No part of the process should go uncelebrated, especially such an important final moment! Love the photos from this post too.
Happy 7 months home! Isn't it amazing their little personalities? I still think I am being tested daily!!
I love that Sarah Mei plays with Q tips - so funny!
Happy 7 months!!I love your last line..too funny!! I bet you have a gymnast on your hands:-).
