Outside of Walmart. The weather here in Nanchang has been wet, wet, wet. And humid. We have been trying to dry some wet clothing for several days now! But it's not cold.

This was the craziest thing! The Walmarts here are multi-levelled. Ike starts going down this escalator and I want to tell him I can't follow him with the cart when I realize it's not an escalator, it's a moving ramp. So we hopped on it, shopping cart and all!

Our hotel. We are on the 15th floor. I think there are 28 floors.

Another view of our hotel. You see the sidewalks? They are slate ? or some other type of stone. The sidewalks around the city are made of lots of little tiles (like shower tiles). And let me tell you, they are very slippery when wet. Kind of a strange choice of sidewalk material when so many days here are wet and humid.

And the best for last! Another picture of Sarah at the pool. We've been swimming every afternoon. She loves it. I've been putting a bow in her hair every morning. I need to take more pictures of her with her bows and walking around. So cute!
To answer your questions: Yes!! I'm so glad I came! I waffled quite a bit about this trip in general-- leaving the boys for so long, fear of flying, etc etc. but it has been incredible! There have been some hard things, but overall it has been amazing and definitely a trip of a lifetime! And Sarah is just amazing. She is a perfect fit for our family! Busy, smart and a little bit of attitude! :) I can't wait to see her with the brothers! She is so smart and cute and has adapted so well.
So much to say, but I'll have to close for now. Thank you for the comments. They are like little love notes from home! :)
1 Kind Words:
Hello and congratulations!!! I just decided to drop in and check how things were going and to my surprise found out you're in China right now. What great photos and what a touching time you had with the foster family. I can feel the love you have for this child. She has been very blessed to be sent to such a special family. Good luck and I'll keep following your blogs. :)
