Notice anything new?

Yes, my baby now has glasses...and they make her look so grown up!
They are actually a greenish color (not blue).
She's nearsighted (like her mama), and her vision is 20/40, so at this point it's not a really big deal.   The ophthamologist said she should wear them when she goes to preschool, but doesn't think she needs to wear them all the time.
This is probably a good thing, because right now we're having a hard time getting "Little Miss Fidgety" to keep her glasses on her face.
Her brother's swim goggles, however, are deemed appropriate eyewear for viewing a favorite movie.  Hmmm... perhaps we should check into prescription swim goggles?  ;)  Heh.

Yes, we really are big softies....or suckers, one or the other!

Jason (our sweet, blue eyed "baby boy") has been asking for awhile now if he could have a guinea pig.

Guinea pig?  Where did that idea come from?

We managed to skirt the issue for several months, feigning deafness and/or changing the subject.  ;)   After all, we already have two dogs and a cat-- certainly enough pets for one family.
But after much persistence from Mr. Blue Eyes, and some sighs and reluctant parental approval, I present to you...
Thing 1
and Thing 2
Pretty cute as far as rodents go, right?

Never underestimate the power of a five year old.   :)  Heh.

I wasn't kidding about the climbing...

...and here's the proof!

I took these photos within a half hour in our backyard.

A little perspective...
Granted, this isn't a really tall pole, but Sarah is the first to conquer it.  She climbs the net like an "army guy"-- quick as a wink.  She also climbs all sorts of cabinets and shelves all.day.long.

It's pretty impressive.

Nerve wracking, but impressive.

And here's another crazy thing-- we have four active, athletic boys and they have yet to have a stitch or broken bone!!  (knock on wood)    But I'm pretty sure this one is vying for the title of "First Broken Bone" at our house.    :)

Side note:  After Sarah climbs on top of the log cabin,  she plays restaurant.
"What do you want to eat?"  she yells at everyone in the back yard.    :)

Most days, I'm just tryin' to keep up.
