the winter that wasn't

We usually get a lot of snow in our neck of the woods.  Last year we had a TON.  This year... not so much.  We were able to make a snowman after a storm last week.  But it soon melted, and on Friday we decided to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather.
The "littles" and I headed to the park.   Love the blue, blue sky!

Daddy was even able to join us (a rare event on a Friday afternoon).  This climbing wall is a little scary for a preschooler,  but Sarah (aka "the fearless climber") soon tackled it.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, our cat has discovered a new place to take a nap.
We are all enjoying the sunshine while it lasts!

Year of the Dragon

We are blessed to have a fun group of families (with Chinese kiddos) in our area who know how to put on a great party!  And this year was no exception. This dragon cake was awesome!!

Sarah also performed in a fan dance at the party but I didn't get a good picture of it.   :(
And fireworks to cap off the evening!
