Summer Preview 2010
One recent wintery afternoon, Sarah pulled out some swimwear from her bottom drawer. This is not an unusual occurrence. She loves the water and would wear a swimsuit every day if I let her. :)
Jason got into the act, too. He insisted on having his orca in the picture and told Sarah to put her hand in its mouth.
We first discovered these cute two piece "swim outfits" last summer and I love them! The boys sunburn easily, so the shirts are great!
And here's a mommy tip: Sarah's two piece outfit makes multiple potty trips much easier! :)

Gooooooaaaaal!!
Justin tried out for and made the JV soccer team! We are proud of his hard work and dedication during the month of conditioning and tryouts. As you can imagine, there was a LOT of running involved during tryouts.
Yesterday we attended his first home game. Despite the sunny pictures, it was FREEZING. I'm surprised the snow (from the day before) had melted off the field!
Armed with snacks and blankets, I trekked to the sidelines with the "two littles" in tow. We made it through the first half, but retreated to the warmth of the van at halftime.
Jason, Sarah and I left the game a little early to get dinner started, and as I was driving home I got a call from my husband, who was still at the game.
"Justin scored a goal!"
Awesome!!!
And isn't that how it goes sometimes? We left just in time to miss "the goal." :(
Oh, well-- there will be more games.. and hopefully spring is just around the corner!
And yes, the home team WON!

Actual conversation with Miss Precocious (not quite three years old), who is obsessed with driving the car (like her 15 year old brother)
Sarah: "Mama, I can't drive."
Me (only half listening): "Mmm hmm... Why not?"
Sarah: "Because I can't reach the pedals!"
Perfectly logical response, right?
What surprises me is how she knew there were pedals in the car that make it go. Maybe she was thinking of her trike pedals? At any rate, she was really thinking about it.
Now, if she could just grow those legs out, she would be in the driver's seat for sure! (But I'm not sure I'm going to "let" my last two babies grow up! Happens much too fast!)
